Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
I recently bought these forks to replace some old ones. they are really sturdy and they just feel so right. You have massive tyre clearance for a 2.3 if you ever need to go that wide. And for the price, there's not no other forks that I would reccommend. They 're just a good all round pair of bmx forks.

Can you tell me the weight of this bike please? Also, is an aluminium frame better than a steel frame?

Generally, steel tends to last longer and tends to feel more comfortable. The weight of this bike would depend on size..

How sturdy is this bike for off-road action?

I'm not talking downhill etc. but occasional venturing across fields.
They are a really solid bike, theses. Only thing I would suggest, because it comes with a carbon fork, maybe fit the whells with some slightly more chunkier tyres.

Would this bike be able to handle some DH/ Freeride as well as XC?

I just wondered whether or not the frame would be strong enough, and whether 100 mm travel is enough. If 100 mm of travel isn't enough, is the frame suitable for a bigger fork? (fox or a larger rockshox)
Thank you in advance for any help you give.
Hi there buddy, I do like treks, they are built to last. this one you're looking at can take a 120mm fork.... just. I was riding a santa cruz chamelelon with 100mm forks and that was pefertly fine. I wouldn't say howver, that's suitable for DH/Freerides. Ideally you would prefer a frame like the santa cruz that could a 160mm fork, or possibly look at light full suss perhaps. The specialized cambers are nice, along with the Trek ex 7s,

Erh, hope this helps.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

I am 6' 5'' is the extra large size big enough for me and what is the frame size in inches

To be honest, i don't thin the extra large would have fitted you. Ideally you should be on a 23'' frame.
